Molar Movement Projects is a collective created and led by interdisciplinary artists Kathleen Dalton and Sonja Petermann.
The two artists have been friends and creative colleagues since 2011, and currently live and work in Ridgewood, Queens.
Kathleen’s astute psychological perception informed by her studies in dance and art therapy, paired with Sonja’s critical visual examination shaped by her background in printmaking and drawing, inform their transdisciplinary and collaborative work.
In the past year, Kathleen and Sonja completed residencies with Moulin/Belle in Périgord Vert, France, as well as with Swale NYC on Governors Island, New York. These programs helped develop their interest in experimental dance films into a movement and filmmaking practice. Utilizing film as their preferred medium, they prioritize inquisitive research and improvisational play.
